A 'what if' Mizuki ignored Hydaelyn's call. She remained in Sharlayan a little longer after her graduation before a position opened to return to the Great Gubal Library and become it's caretaker.

Mizuki jumped at the change even though her professors told her she was a little overqualified but she submitted her application and was chosen for the task.

It was news for her master, something productive for her to do. and it got her out the way. Camélia quickly forgot Mizuki was even there to begin with.

Mizuki got to read book all day and practise forbidden magicks without watching eyes.

Still she supresses the weird voice in her head. The affairs of the outside don't concern her much and she rarely goes outside anyway.

"I wonder what that voice is? I've never read about anything like this.. Maybe it will just go away..." she hummed.

Thank you for answering my question about the matching up of written and in-game characters, that definitely helps. I had planned to start playing my WoL first but reading your advice has me thinking maybe I need a character to just enjoy the story then go back and play my WoL. When you play Dark Autumn and Aeryn, do you play one all the way through or do you play Dark to a point then go back and play Aeryn to the same point? My WoL is FFVIII inspired and pulls a bit from the game itself. ♥

You’re welcome! And I know a few folks with that approach; they have their “gameplay main” but their “Warrior of Light” for fanfic, or even their RP main, is another character—who sometimes lags behind on finishing MSQ, even.

Dark’s my first FF14 char, and I never intended her to be “the” WoL. “A” WoL, a heroic adventurer with the Echo, but she is here to help the Actual WoL (whoever that is in my or friends’ stories).

I play Dark through first partially from habit. I got her to 4.1 before I made alts to replay ARR (it was before NG+) and see the other city intro stories. She went through the patches as they dropped. Eventually C’oretta, and then Aeryn, caught up. C’oretta got left behind though, as I started taking Aeryn through story after Dark was finished (I was also waiting on Dancer for C’oretta as melee is not my forte).

Shadowbringers 5.0 I finished on Dark Autumn and was planning to take time before leveling Aeryn. But I began her play through within a couple days cuz I wanted to relive that story. And that’s kind of how it goes; Dark plays through to the end of current MSQ, then Aeryn starts her playthrough a couple days or so later.

There’s content Aeryn’s done that Dark has not, like Bozja and Eureka. I leveled all the jobs and classes on Aeryn and saw all those stories on her first. But for Raids, Trials, MSQ, it’s typically Dark first—and in the case of Raids and Trials, it’s helpful to take Dark first not only for story, but to see the fight so when my FC does it later in the week and I take Aeryn I have a good idea of what’s going on (as I am RezMage).

Dark tackles the main stories first so I get the lore and info, but also my own kneejerk reactions out of the way. I can start thinking of my WoL’s story and how she reacts to it and where the other OCs fit, and then revise that and take more detailed notes on that second playthrough (usually adding to my initial notes and reactions, to see how they match up or change).

It’s also worth noting; C’oretta and Iyna, while part of my EW stories and have parts they take in EW’s plot, and assigned role quests…they are still in Shadowbringers and Stormblood patches respectively. I know the story and lore. It’s my fiction. They’re supporting characters for my WoL, as Dark is, so I can write them where I need them even if mechanically they are lagging behind until I have the time. I do similarly with which of them has done which class/job chain. What parts of MSQ and the Raid/Trial stories the 3 alts take on, compared to Aeryn—my WoL doesn’t do all of it herself.

(Though I do need to push Iyna through the last few StB patches and at least early ShB for general writing project reasons, to refresh myself on canon)

I actually keep A version of my timeline and ideas for the ladies on the blog (spoilers through current content so not sprout friendly). I have others in my doc folders—for jobs, for relationships—as well as all those notes, drabbles, and scraps as I go. But this helps give me a foundation. I can also shift it around; I added the Avengret stuff last year, and Zaine’s service in the Radiant Host only a couple months ago when I determined that was where he received his initial combat training and why he didn’t start adventuring and return to Eorzea until his mid-20s, trying to be the dutiful son first.

So. I play through entirely on Dark. Then take Aeryn through a few days after Dark finishes MSQ. During both, I keep drabble reactions, notes, etc. I kinda figure then, with all the story behind me, where all of my OCs fit into that story, and how. And I do my best to keep track of it in ways that work for me.

Did you have difficulty creating any of your OCs to make them the way you wanted, or did they all come to you naturally in the process?

[hrmm... Yes and no.]

My thought process is very often described as 'A Trainyard' with many different trains of thought processes coming and going at any one time, leading my 'creative' thought process to be 50-60 'steps' above most others in the same second of 1-2 when it comes to literary and narrative creation. (I actually have documentation for this as a diagnosed 'prodigy' but I have more cons in turn. But this isn't about that) -- But with all those Trains, character and story creation is almost an instant to develop, create, define, and explore any OCs or involvement with potential storylines.

My problem almost always comes from the visual design of things, stemming from how I think 'In Words' over visually, and of course my colorblindness.

Names, Speech, and Word Choice, are always deliberate down to the syllable; Anagrams of names, undertone of things to come later, history beneath conversations; so those things I don't have a problem with.

Of course there are some times that are sudden 'Eureka' moments for things that are not Story Content related [like questions or rp] but the reasoning behind the answers is always based around the foundation of the characters that has always been there, nothing will come from nothing in a sense.

I am very proud of the visual designs for the characters I have! It's the 'One Thing' I have had to work hard to achieve and learn, and I spent schooling learning and developing this skill so I am very honored anytime someone says they enjoy them, and I cherish each message :D

You can summarize this as 'Characters make themselves in a nanosecond as all potential options are gone through, sorted, and narrowed in that time.'

Things I Like RP Partners to Know;

I like to be called:

Leigh or Lily are my preferred names of choice! Both are derivative of OC Lily’s name but in different ways. (That and Leigh just feels so much more right than my the name on my birth certificate.)

One thing you should know about me:

I am a relic grinder in game (its my most common activity in game!) As such I tend to not have much free time since i focus so much on getting those relics. (I have all Zetas, Luxs, (fuck Eureka), and only need 7 more Blade weapons) I do try to make time tho, so don’t be afraid to poke me! Oh, and another thing. I DM DND for 3 different groups during the week (2 weekly, 1 bi-weekly) and play with 2 other groups (both bi-weekly). Whenever those times happen, I tend to focus entirely on that so if I go silent for an evening or afternoon, that’s where I’m at!

One thing you should know about RPing with my character(s):

I love doing adventures, as such most of my characters are adventure focused. I don’t mind other scenarios, but adventures are my bread and butter. Lily delves into tombs, The Archeologist explores forgotten locales and social adventures, A’tyla is a general adventurer, Benoit is best on the sea, Tatiava will go anywhere, Yasha is my WoL, and Lhei will go where the crystals are.

Canon characters and I are confusing, because I did start Lily off in such a manner to avoid any canon interaction since I wanted to do something not connected to the main story. (I had rp’d something like that with my old guild in SWTOR and the appeal of ff’s story was not as compelling since it was everyone’s story. But nowadays, I love seeing other people use/play as canon characters! Its so cool and exciting to see how people spin them.

Hi Chikuto! Thank you for being a really awesome artist and also giving the best art advice. Sorry if this is too personal or you just don't want to answer, but I was wondering if your depression still causes you really bad art block. I've gotten to the point with mine that I can't even picture what I want my art to even remotely look like anymore. Do you have any exercises that get you over that hump? Does it also happen with your writing? Thank you for a being a huge inspiration.

I don’t think there’s a eureka moment where the depression falls away and the art drive comes back. I personally feel like depression is a dam holding back the creative flow. It’s impossible to tear it all down at once, but the good days chip away at it little by little - and if I’m lucky some inspiration will trickle through. 

I suppose that can sound good or bad depending on how you think about it. Before my big depression hit this year, I was really ontop of my shit - I mean, I did an entire Gravity Falls comic just out of the blue. I was working hard on Clockwork. When my brother died those things just became so inconsiquential, no matter how well recieved they were (yes follower count, I see you tank every time I post something that isn’t the GF comic). 

But those felt like obligations. What really sorta got me drawing again was mindless self indulgence. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to do it on my own; some of my OC crazy friends pulled me into their group and we’ve been RPing and jamming out about our OCs and generally just having a chill time. I dusted off my baby Char Star and I’ve been having a blast just getting excited with other people about OCs and RP and stuff. It’s a nice change and a breath of fresh air. 

That doesn’t mean my comic projects are dead - Clockwork will never die, and maybe if I get another Gravity Falls surge I’ll keep going with that comic. But right now I’m just sorta chilling. Doing what’s best for me.

tl;dr: self indulgence, being social, becoming a healthier you will reflect upon your art also. i was also told “JUST SELF-INDULGE” when i was depressed, and didn’t really know what it meant until I found out what it meant for me. I hope you feel better soon and find your spark again.

RP PARTNER WANTED!

Hey guys! Just a little about myself before I tell you what I’m looking for. I’m 20 years old and have been role playing for around nine years.

A few rules for what I look for in a partner.

You have to be at least 18 years old!

While I am SFW friendly, I do prefer my roleplays to have some NSFW in it. I’m open to it being a mainly NSFW plot, or a heavy plot with some NSFW sprinkled in.

Literate Paragraphs only! You don’t have to write me a novel, but I prefer AT LEAST 2 paragraphs. The longer the better, but don’t stress yourself to give me really long posts.

Please have at least semi-decent grammar.

I tend to reply very fast. I’m usually not picky when it comes to my partners replying speed, but it is nice if someone has a same pace as me! It’s okay if you don’t know.

I think its time to reveal my identity.

So...As many of you know, I created this blog as a way to become more confident, hence the reason why I use Demi Lovato as my faceclaim. I also, as time went on with this blog, decided to use this blog as sort of an experiment. I don’t usually push for people to answer on my original blog, but on this one I have a little less of a filter while at the same remaining cordial and polite.

During the course of this blog, I’ve found myself at times with the same feelings I’d often find on my original RP blog. I would find myself jealous of certain interactions because of my own failure to reblog threads as often as I liked, in turn feeling like I was feeling replaced. I often feared that, as I sometimes do, I’d be forgotten.

But, as time went on, I found that a lot of the way I was feeling was due to my own thoughts. I instead found myself in the midst of people who were welcoming me into my much more confident persona with such gusto that, I couldn’t believe how accepted I was in a fandom community I have loved since I was 10 years old. 

An so....I’ve decided.....after a long deliberation.....that my partners should know how they’re really talking to.

My original rp blog was a Bonnie blog, from there I moved into my OC trainer blog, which I based off of my own personality. No other name for her felt right, except for the nickname I had decided for myself about a year or so before I started up the my Eureka/Bonnie blog. Sammi. The blog has been transformed into a multimuse blog, and has about 5  or so muses on there. 

I was happy with my blog for a long time...that was, until I felt like I couldn’t post without different users (whom have already been blocked from my accounts and will remain nameless) constantly harassing me. This was due to a misinterpretation of my offer of friendship, being one to take advantage of.

With this constant harassment, amongst personal factors at home, I found myself lacking inspiration for the characters I loved so much. There were other blogs that I wanted to interact with that were Pokemon blogs, but I didn’t feel like they took me seriously as a blogger/Rper.  I knew I couldn’t move my blog, otherwise they would follow me. And starting over with a Pokemon OC trainer rp blog would be incredibly difficult to promote. Especially if I really didn’t have a footprint in the community I loved   It wasn’t until I had to reset my second tumblr blog that I came up with the idea of Misty. 

I had wanted to RP a canon character from the series for a long time. But I just couldn’t decide who I wanted to be. There were so many RPer’s popping up that were playing Sun & Moon characters, I wanted to bring back a blast from the past. Serena (Though I loved her character with all my heart) was still a popular character because the XY series had only just ended and I felt that I wasn’t going to portray her well enough to do her justice.

Then there was May, but I already saw there were two really incredible May RPer’s and I actually wanted to interact with them as well.

Dawn was already taken by wonderful Miss diamonddandruff  whom I wanted to interact with as well.

Then, there was Misty. The tomboy water trainer. I had grown up watching the original series before I got into the games, and found I was most connected with her. She was a tomboy like I was, and her attitude was one that reminded me of what I was like when I was 10/11. I asked my best friend/my boyfriend what he thought of me playing a main character from the series, including Misty and a few other names as possible candidates. He encouraged me to pursue it, not knowing that I had created this separate blog.

I revealed myself to him about a month into rping with everyone on here, and from there began to truly concentrate on developing everything. 

And now...here we are.

I understand if any of you feel like you can’t RP with me any longer. I understand if it seems like I’ve kind of been hiding myself but in truth, I’ve been more myself on this blog due to my constant diligence to be honest and be blunt.

If this is where we say adieu , then I hope you have a wonderful rest of you days. You were wonderful to talk to/rp with.

Loss of the Senses

“You have to turn around. This road is closed.” A silver-gray woman held out both hands over the roadway, seemingly nonchalant about the other. Nearby, a brown sheriff’s vehicle was parked with no driver... But she had no badge on her to indicate that sort of status. “I’m sorry, but until further notice, no one is allowed to visit Eureka.”

Of that she wasn’t lying. They were dealing with yet another suped-up machine of the mad scientists’ on the rampage, one that (un)thankfully attacked organics as opposed to AI. Many of the population were already trying to deal with the sudden (and rather chaotic) loss of a sense... She was going to beat the absolute crap out of Dr. Parrish when this was all over... But for now she was here, designated the guardian of the town.

“If you cross the county line, I’ll be forced to take drastic measures.” She exhaled. “... I’m sorry, but that’s just how it is right now. So please, turn around and leave.”

Cluster hummed lightly as one hand sifted into a sheet of gray, twirling and spinning before diving into the device before her. She heard the bell ring near the end of her ‘shop’ (Carl’s garage).

“Give me a moment and I’ll be right with you. I just have to fix the connecting wire for Director Deacon’s subspace communicator... Might mean an upgrade in my future!” She grinned at the thought. A soft click rang through the garage, and the spindly wires of gray returned to her arm, forming the hand she had lost not a second ago. She turned to face the newcomer, ice-blue optics bright. “So, how may I help y-...?”
